Village of San Lorenzo End-of-Summer Tour, August 2025
Parkview Baptist kicked off the 2025 midyear trips with a team of 14 missionaries working in their sponsored village of San Lorenzo. The week included Bible school lessons & activities, a dental clinic, and 2 house dedications were held which included a new home for an elderly couple who, before receiving the home and new mattress from the team, were sleeping on a dirt floor.
Because of Parkview’s dedication and our holistic approach to missions, the relationship with San Lorenzo is growing. In addition to following up on current medical and dental needs, our AMF team is now planning future projects, including a water collection system for the school and securing local pastoral support for the village.
During our August village tour we encountered travel challenges due to the closure of all roads leading into San Lorenzo for installation of concrete pavers. Advised by local field workers, Jake attempted to access the village via dirt roads used by machinery but encountered a dead-end requiring a treacherous hillside retreat. As a result we recorded this video report from a hillside overlooking the village (turns out that school was dismissed that day anyway due to a futbol tournament in a nearby town!)
Our AMF team continues to minister to the village and the people of San Lorenzo eagerly await the next Parkview visit in October. Thank you to the missionaries, sponsors and donors who are helping change lives in this village.
