Awakening Hope partners with U.S. organizations and churches to bring free medical and dental care to remote Mayan villages with little or no access to healthcare. We believe every patient carries a physical need — and a deeper longing that only the gospel of Jesus Christ can meet.

No prior mission trip experience required. Our in-country team handles logistics, translation, and supplies. You bring your clinical skills and a willing heart.

Awakening Hope partners with trained Guatemalan professionals who serve year-round alongside visiting medical teams — bridging language, culture, and care in every village.

  • A native Mayan, bilingual in Kaqchiquel and Spanish. Ten years of nursing at Sanatorio la Promesa, serving villages with wellness checks, medicine distribution, and patient advocacy.

  • Trained at the University of San Carlos, Guatemala. With Awakening Hope since 2023, expanding dental care from basic extractions to a growing range of services for all ages.

  • Provides counseling and emotional support to village residents alongside medical teams, caring for the whole person — body, mind, and spirit.
